German Delegates Visit 2025

DES’s Smt. Subhadra K. Jindal College of Nursing proudly hosted a distinguished German delegation from Baden-Württemberg to explore international partnerships aimed at enriching nursing education, skill development, and global opportunities for students. The visit marks an important milestone in the college’s efforts to build strong global networks and enhance international exposure for its learners.
The delegation included Mr. Manfred Lucha, Minister of Social Affairs, Health and Integration, along with representatives from various cities in Baden-Württemberg. Leaders from the Deccan Education Society – Adv. Ashok Palande, Vice Chairman; Shri. Deepak Kale, Deputy Secretary; Prof. Swati Joglekar, Secretary, Governing Body; Dr. Preeti Abhyankar; Dr. Sharad Agarkhedkar; Smt. Prajakta Pradhan; Adv. Rajashree Thakar; and Dr. Sharada Chavan, Principal of the Nursing College – were present for this important interaction.
The programme commenced with an official exchange of mementos and welcome addresses by the German delegation and Prof. Swati Joglekar. Principal Dr. Sharada Chavan presented an overview of India’s Nursing Education structure and highlighted how the DES Nursing College implements advanced training practices through its value-based and student-focused approach.
The delegation interacted with DES representatives and students, discussing German language training, international career pathways, and future opportunities for nursing graduates in global healthcare systems.
As part of the visit, the delegation toured the Nursing Skill Lab, Simulation Lab, and Library, where they appreciated the college’s emphasis on high-quality teaching, hands-on training, and student-centered learning. The visit concluded with a Heritage Walk through the historic Fergusson College campus.
During their interaction, the German representatives shared positive feedback and expressed interest in building long-term academic collaborations. Smt. Prajakta Pradhan highlighted the potential for partnerships across various DES institutions, including schools, colleges, and DES Pune University.
Dr. Preeti Abhyankar remarked, “This interaction opens new doors for global exposure for our students. We look forward to a long-term and meaningful collaboration with the Baden-Württemberg.”
